A wonderfully picturesque wide-spreading tree valued for its distinctive form, tends to be low-branched with stout, broadly spreading branches when mature, interesting corky bark; most effective where it has lots of room to spread.
Amur Cork Tree has dark green foliage throughout the season. The glossy pointy compound leaves turn an outstanding gold in the fall. Neither the flowers nor the fruit are ornamentally significant. However, the fruit can be messy in the landscape and may require occasional clean-up. The warty gray bark is extremely showy and adds significant winter interest.
